Predictions for Local Search in 2012

Well it is a new year and there have been many posts on what we could expect. What can we expect? Right now I can not say but the way the economy is right now, it is going to take a while for things to turn around.  It has been a tough year or so for yours truly. Even before things went south, different regions are reacting differently to the current economy. What I have seen in Georgia is that  a lot of small business are contracting and slowing down getting on the web.  If they are on the web, then they are  doing very little.  I know not all regions are seeing this. So right now, I am trying to ride out the storm.

Here are some great articles on what others think will happen in 2012. They are not listed in any particular order.

  1. Wow, you have some great links in this post. Checked out a couple and I’m headed to check out more but wanted to give you some encouragement first. My business is actually booming and I think it’s because I’m finding the business owners who realize now is the time to get online. Done right, a website is an investment not an expense. If you aren’t getting out and meeting business owners, I’d encourage you to do so as that’s the best way to find the ones who realize a down economy is not necessarily the time to cut back on marketing. It’s time to ramp it up!
